"The Seville"

Like the Windsor V8 in a '65 Mustang, drummers are the high-octane propulsion largely concealed beneath the band's flashy body. Guitarists, we get to be the front end, the headlights, the deep bucket seats, the dashboard — fuzzy dice optional. But without the backbeat, without that unerring percussive foundation, well, I don't need to tell you. The secret of rock 'n' roll is revealed at the first rehearsal: a band is only as good as its drummer.

In fact, a great drummer can lift everyone and everything higher while, without rock-solid hands on the kit, forget it. Nothing is happening.

I'm a guitarist, focused on guitars, but my respect for what drummers do could not be higher, and their unique brand of driven is so naturally aligned with the relentless breakaway spirit of Anthology, that designing this constructive leather salute, a case for their firing pistons, was a decision that made itself.

Sticks will come and splinter, as they should, burned up like fuel, but The Seville drumstick bag is built to keep time forever, braving the beatings of the road while burnishing beautifully with every mile, capturing and expressing the solid, unrelenting journey of the drummer in all its varied tempos.

My drum-pounding brothers and sisters deserve nothing less. Salute.

Serious stuff

This stick bag is glorious. I was in the market for a good quality stick bag and started my search on Etsy. I couldn't find a bag that fit all my (picky) requirements. In the end, the Anthology stick bag ticked all the boxes. I did balk at the price initially, but the purchase has to be seen as an investment. I've been through several cheap canvas, bog standard-type stick bags over the years (Zildjian, Vic Firth, etc) and they fall apart with minimal usage. The zippers and plastic strap attachments all end up breaking, rendering them near useless. This bag is hefty, with lots of compartments and simply looks amazing, from the craftsmanship to small details like the cool logo. The smell, if you like leather, is fantastic too! I can imagine this bag to last at least a lifetime. If you are obsessed with drums, you will not regret this purchase.

Almost.......

I hate to be the one to end the perfect 5 star review streak but.....

There's so much that is great and beautiful about this bag and it's all referenced throughly in the other reviews here. Craftsmanship and materials are very good!
My negative bias comes from the fact that I "moved in" into this bag coming from the big Vic Firth faux-leather bag. Although the Anthology bag has a good amount of room and it's lifespan and good looks go way beyond my old bag it is a definite downsize from the behemoth Vic Firth bag. The thing I miss the most is the ability to carry a large amount of sheet music in my sick bag. Anthology has a large(ish) flap pocket on the back of their bag that is not pictured on their site that I could tell. It is good for stashing about three or four legal size papers folded in half and that's about it. So maybe you can put your set list in it but not much else and you can forget about carrying a sets worth of music in it. Even if that's not expected, I just think they could have done something better with all that space on the back of their bag. More pockets similar to the front maybe?

Best Stick Bag Ever

I play between 40-50 shows a year. Not counting rehearsals and this is the best stick bag I have ever had. It holds my sticks, wallet, phone, drum key etc. This bag will last me forever, instead of having to get a new one every 4-5 years. You deserve it, so pull the trigger and get this bag. A year from now you will forget what it cost and just be happy with how great this bag really is.

Beautiful, Roomy Bag!

I've used a fairly standard size stick bag for many years. You get to the hit and lay your different sticks, brushes, tympani and cymbal mallets out in such a way to get to them easily and hope they don't roll off whatever surface that is. With this bag, which is a little bigger, it's much easier just to slip it back into the roomy pouch, of which there are many. The bag doesn't play the gig, but it makes it easier to get to the things you need to do the job. And last but not least, the leather and design of this bag are both gorgeous. Best not to leave it laying around where you can't watch it!!!
