Check out this Quick Six - "On the Road" Edition to find out a little bit about what touring life is like for Jeff Nisen, guitarist for Pepper. Watch the video or read below.
- What's your must have food and/or drink on the road? Okay. Must have food or drink on the road. That's easy for me. I'm just a burger and a beer guy. Almost before every show, a few hours before, I'll walk around town, find some cool little local spot, meet some people, belly up to the bar, have a beer, get a burger. Sometimes I'll go nuts and get a chicken sandwich.
- What's your favorite venue green room and why? Favorite venue green room would be St. Augustine Amphitheater. Amazing people, amazing catering. Really, really clean. Nice. And they always leave us with an awesome gift bag full of swag.
- What is a memorable moment/story from the road? Oh my god. I've been touring for like 20 years. I feel like every day is a lifetime of tour memories. Oh, here's a wild one. In my old band, Lose Control, we were in the van headed to Scottsdale. The car in front of us spun off the road hit a bush, caught fire. We pull over. We end up helping this mother and daughter out of the car. Flash forward two hours. We're in Scottsdale. We end up meeting this dude at the bar. We all hit is off. He, that night, ends up giving us cash to fund our first record. True story.
- What is the most underrated tour city? Most underrated tour city. I don't know if it's underrated necessarily but I do love Bend, Oregon. It's such a beautiful city. We play the Hayden Homes Amphitheater every year or two. We always plan a day off around there so we can do a river float and, big shout out, we always go to Kona Mix Plate. They take great care of us over there. Wonderful food.
- Is there something you always bring with you on tour from home to remind you have home? Something from home I bring with me on tour is my wife has started taking Polaroids of our baby girl and I'll put them up on my bunk so she's with me.
- What is one surprising, not-so-obvious challenge of being on the road? Surprising, not-to-obvious challenge of being on the road. Let's just say not all bathrooms and showers are created equal. You might be in a nice hotel scenario one night and, the next night, you're playing a festival in the middle of nowhere and it's a port-a-potty and a hose.
