Our handmade leather guitar straps for electric guitars, acoustic guitars and bass guitars are made with the highest quality full-grain leathers. Because full grain leather comes from the top layer of the hide, it has all the strength and makes the best leather guitar strap, especially for heavy guitars. Each Anthology Gear guitar strap has its natural marks, scrapes and scars, which means each strap has its own unique personality. Even better, our leather burnishes and beautifies with use. Between two layers of leather, we use a high-density, premium padding to maximize comfort even during those long gigs. Our craftsmen also use only the strongest industrial grade threads, the same threads used to make parachutes and airbags. That’s strength you can trust.
Our attention to detail is uncompromising. Every cut, stitch and rivet is worked and reworked until it’s perfect. These premium guitar straps are built to last longer and age better than Keith Richards. There are corporations that pump out “boatloads” of cheaply made instrument straps, covered with clip-art. We’re not one of them. Our high end guitar straps are all designed by us, then handcrafted by a "maestro" of leather in old Mexico with the highest quality leathers. Each padded leather guitar strap is individually hand cut and personally machined and hand sewn.
Our goal at Anthology Gear: build the best ... or don’t bother
"Apparently I am gonna have to buy more guitars to fit the several other straps I want to buy :-)"
"Absolutely the best strap I have ever owned. I have 3 of the Reticent Straps for my Fender, Gibson Les Paul and Strat. I will be ordering more for more of my guitars. They are beautiful, well made and totally distribute the weight of the heavier Les Pauls. I can't say enough good about this company and their products."
"Love it as much as my guitar. Now that's sayin' a lot! The wider strap makes the heft of a LP much easier on my shoulder. Thanks for a great investment quality heirloom. "
"I really enjoy the awesome quality, your craftsmanship and how comfy it actually is. It feels like a second skin since the moment it arrived."
"I play Les Pauls only for shows, Halloween nite we did a 43 song 3 1/2 hour gig (clocks rolled back at 2 AM) and not one bit of back or shoulder stress from the weight of my guitars, I cannot say enough about these guys THEY GET IT!!"
"Superior leather. Worn look and feel, like a comfortable pair of jeans, but not "worn out." Only 2" wide but doesn't dig into my shoulder with a Les Paul."
"The Bass guitar is a pretty substantial instrument, and it's a physically demanding instrument to play- Long sets, long nights on stage. Not only does the ANTHOLOGY strap do the job extremely well- It looks awesome while doing it."
"I can tell that it’ll last much longer than my other cheaper straps, and it is 10x more comfortable."
"I have a Les Paul, and as many of you know, they’re a tad on the heavy side. But with this strap (2”), I’m never fatigued, never sore, always comfortable. It’s nicely padded, supple, broke in within just a few days, and will age perfectly."
Yes! We use full grain leather for its ability to fully distribute the weight of the guitar across the strap, for a more comfortable playing experience on those long gigs. In addition, between the two layers of leather, we use a high-density, premium padding to maximize comfort. Although not as thick as some padded guitar straps out there, our premium padding will not break down over time. Don't take it from us, here are just a few quotes from guitarists who use our straps:
"No shoulder ache or numb fret fingers when I use it."
"While on my electric guitar, weighing in at around 10 lbs, it is the most comfortable strap I own and distributes the weight very efficiently."
"My main ax is a Spector 5 string. The heaviest, but best guitar I have owned. Long sets have caused cramps and pain and the No Quarter stood out so I decided to give it a try. Problem solved. It not only looks incredible with craftsmanship I've never seen or experienced before, but more importantly, I no longer experience the shoulder pain that brought me here in the first place."
"I love it when you forget that you're wearing a guitar - no neck discomfort or pressure."
"I use it with a 335, which is a heavy guitar. This strap distributes the load for the most comfortable experience yet. And, it is beautiful. I’m 68, started playing at 12, and this is the best strap I’ve ever had - treat yourself."
"Strap is super comfortable with heavy LP and lighter Tele, and everything in between."
"I normally play a 10 lbs. Les Paul and this strap is so comfortable that I don’t even think about it now."
"It's very comfortable and my back is very grateful. My expectations were exceeded."
"This strap is so comfortable that I hardly wanna put the guitar down anymore."
"It makes a heavy guitar like a Les Paul feel light... and the comfort can’t be beat... That is why I bought one for my Strat too!"
We know that many guitar players use Schaller strap locks with our guitar straps successfully (without modifying the strap in any way). We are sure other strap lock brands are used as well. Keep in mind, the full grain leather we use in our straps is thicker than that used most other leather guitar straps.
We don’t usually recommend rolling our strap very tight. They are not flimsy like a lot of other leather straps on the market. Our straps are substantial, fairly thick due to a top and bottom full grain leather as well as internal high density padding in between the leathers.
