When we purchased Anthology Gear in December of 2017, we were definitely changing course from the path we had been on for quite some time. But, as we hold on tight to this thread and head in this new direction, nothing has felt more right. El Camino pays tribute to the path we are destined to follow in life.

Leather This Anthology Gear leather guitar strap is hand-made with the absolute finest quality full-grain leather. Full grain leather is unaltered, meaning the top layer of the hide is not shaved off to eliminate aesthetic imperfections, so it retains all of its natural scrapes and marks. It also means full grain leather is stronger and more durable than all other leathers (top grain leather and genuine leather, for example). To top it off, this leather will burnish and beautify with use. All of our full grain leather guitar straps have their natural marks, scrapes and scars, which means they have loads of raw, rugged personality. The full grain leather on the back side of the strap has been custom plated to give it a grippier texture.
Our leathers are chosen for their ability to fully distribute the weight of the guitar across the strap, for a more comfortable playing experience on those long gigs.
Your guitar strap may feel a little stiff at first - that's just the thickness and strength of full grain leather. Like a new pair of high quality leather boots, you need to break it in. The more you wear your guitar strap, the softer it will get.

Between two layers of leather, we use a high-density, premium padding to maximize comfort without sacrificing strength. What's the Right Guitar Strap Length?
If you’re buying as a gift and don’t have access to measure the current strap, or you just can’t wait until you get home to take the measurement, there are several factors to consider:
The main functional issue with respect to buying a guitar strap online is getting the length right. Our straps are measured from attachment hole to hole. The best way to determine your ideal length, or that of the musician you’re buying for, is to measure the previous strap. If you don’t have a strap to reference for whatever reason, we’ve assembled some general guidelines for length (supplemented with this friendly disclaimer: if you find our standard strap is too short, you can always add a jumbo tongue).
Elements to consider:
1. Player height and weight:
• In general, players who are 6’ and under, and average weight, should be fine with a standard length strap.
• Players over 6’, or with more weight, could use a jumbo tongue.
2. Electric or acoustic:
• Because acoustic guitar bodies are deeper, guitar players 5’10” and over will likely prefer a strap with the jumbo tongue.
3. Placement of attachment pegs:
• The strap attachment peg on the guitar can be in a couple of places. On some guitars the peg is at the top of the bout; on others, it’s placed where the guitar neck meets the body of the guitar. In the case of the latter, a few more inches will be needed, and a jumbo tongue might be the way to go.
4. How low or high the player holds their guitar:
• If the player is a rocker, with their guitar a bit below the waist, a jumbo tongue might be the way to go.
• If the player holds the guitar from the waist up, our standard length strap should do the trick.

Pictures really do not do this strap justice. It is more stunning in real life. Extremely comfortable to wear, even with a medium-heavy bass. Would fully recommend :-)
I purchased the 3" El Camino as a gift for my partner who is a bass player. He was ecstatic. He played for hours the first time he put it on and said he had never been more comfortable. He was most impressed by the weight distribution and the suppleness of the leather lining. Aesthetically, it's even more gorgeous than it looked on the website. I’ve had my strap for a couple months now and I love it. Very high quality and great attention to detail. Will last me forever. If you’re on the fence just pull the trigger.
I ordered the turquoise leather strap after seeing Trey Anastasio rock a similar one. It's beautiful, and makes a pretty heavy guitar feel all the lighter. It does have the typical leather stiffness initially, and it had a distinct smell out of the box, but time and wear solves both issues. Great quality. I couldn't recommend it more to anyone with the budget for it. It is the last and only strap for my favorite guitar.
The moment I found Anthology on a random search I knew I'd order one. I admit, the price seemed high but I ended up pulling the trigger during a moment of weakness. The moment I got the strap into my hand I knew I would not regret a single dollar of that purchase. The aesthetics and quality of construction are beyond what I could have dreamed of. The strap is stunning against my J45 faded, and I didn't realize what a comfortable strap was until I felt this. I guess you could say I didn't know what I was missing.
