FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some common questions/concerns our customers have prior to ordering. If you have other questions, please feel free to email us.
GENERAL
If you happen to be in the Bridge City (Portland, Oregon), hop over to Strum on the east side where you can find a small selection of our guitar straps and pick wallets. Our complete collection of products can be purchased from our website. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee if for some reason you're not happy with your purchase.
We currently only offer a personalization (2-3 letter monogram) option for our Leather Zipper Pouches and Minimalist Wallets. We don't offer this for any other items at this time. If this is something you'd like, we recommend taking your strap or bag to a local trophy shop, one that uses a laser for etching. Many trophy shops have begun using lasers. We don't recommend taking it to a traditional hammered tooling leather worker. Our leather is a soft, but rugged full-grain leather, and as such, responds better with lasering than it does with hammering.
Most definitely, we are always working on new designs. We are very meticulous in our design process, and take the time to get it right before we present a product to market.
GUITAR STRAP QUESTIONS
Our straps are all measured from attachment hole to hole. Our
standard straps adjust from 45" to 54" long (and with some fancy
threading of the standard tongue, you can shorten the standard strap length to under 40"). With a Jumbo Tongue, the strap adjusts from 54" to 63" long.
So what length is best for you? Your best bet is to measure your
current guitar strap. If you're buying as a gift and don't have access to measure the current strap, or you just can't wait until you get home to take the measurement, there are several factors to consider:
- Height and weight of the player
- Guitar type: electric or acoustic
- Placement of attachment pegs on the guitar
- How low or high the player hangs the guitar
Both our 2" and 3" guitar straps offer a comfortable playing experience. For those who prefer a more streamlined look or for those with very narrow shoulders, a 2" strap might be preferable. If your guitar is on the heavier side, then a 3" strap is going to do a better job at distributing the weight of the instrument.
Yes! We use full grain leather for its ability to fully distribute the weight of the guitar across the strap, for a more comfortable playing experience on those long gigs. In addition, between the two layers of leather, we use a high-density, premium padding to maximize comfort. Although not as thick as some padded guitar straps out there, our premium padding will not break down over time. Don't take it from us, here are just a few quotes from guitarists who use our straps:
"No shoulder ache or numb fret fingers when I use it."
"While on my electric guitar, weighing in at around 10 lbs, it is the most comfortable strap I own and distributes the weight very efficiently."
"My main ax is a Spector 5 string. The heaviest, but best guitar I have owned. Long sets have caused cramps and pain and the No Quarter stood out so I decided to give it a try. Problem solved. It not only looks incredible with craftsmanship I've never seen or experienced before, but more importantly, I no longer experience the shoulder pain that brought me here in the first place."
"I love it when you forget that you're wearing a guitar - no neck discomfort or pressure."
"I use it with a 335, which is a heavy guitar. This strap distributes the load for the most comfortable experience yet. And, it is beautiful. I’m 68, started playing at 12, and this is the best strap I’ve ever had - treat yourself."
"Strap is super comfortable with heavy LP and lighter Tele, and everything in between."
"I normally play a 10 lbs. Les Paul and this strap is so comfortable that I don’t even think about it now."
"It's very comfortable and my back is very grateful. My expectations were exceeded."
"This strap is so comfortable that I hardly wanna put the guitar down anymore."
"It makes a heavy guitar like a Les Paul feel light... and the comfort
can’t be beat... That is why I bought one for my Strat too!"
We know that many guitar players use Schaller strap locks with our guitar straps successfully (without modifying the strap in any way). We are sure other strap lock brands are used as well. Keep in mind, the full grain leather we use in our straps is thicker than that used most other leather guitar straps.
We don’t usually recommend rolling our strap super tight. They are not flimsy like a lot of other leather straps on the market. Our straps are substantial, fairly thick due to a top and bottom full grain leather as well as internal high density padding in between the leathers. But if you choose to roll it for storing, make sure you roll the strap with the outside of the strap facing out.

We offer a 25 year warranty against all defects in materials and workmanship for all of our products - but our products are made and expected to last a lifetime. If it’s our fault that an item breaks because we didn’t put it together well or we used defective materials that didn’t hold up like they were supposed to, then we’ll fix it or replace it. Just contact us and we will take care of the problem. Note, normal wear and tear is not covered by this warranty, so don't try to cash in if you've accidentally ruined one of our pieces in the trashing of a hotel room. Because you probably enjoyed that a little too much for it to be a real accident.
COLOR
No. We've specifically chosen an ultra soft full-grain leather for the shoulder side of all our guitar straps and shoulder straps that will not bleed.
Usually, but not always. We've specifically chosen leathers that are not exactly the same every time out. We don't paint or finish our leather to be homogeneous. Each piece is unique. There is the possibility of a 20% variation, lighter or darker, from the pictures.
LEATHER CARE
Less is more when it comes to applying conditioners, cleaners, etc on our leather. The oils on your hands will naturally condition the leather with use. But if you ever feel like the leather is a little dry, we recommend Chamberlain's Leather Milk, (www.leather-milk.com). It's all natural and excellent for the leather. Here are some links to some other conditioners that I've heard are pretty good as well:
DO NOT USE DYES OR STAINS. Use only oils. Mink oil darkens leather and so do a number of other oils you can find at a leather supply shop. We recommend doing a test on a small section first, so you know what to expect. You can only get it lighter by bending or scratching it.
